She has spent many years handling mass tort litigation and has substantial expertise in the management of large numbers of cases filed in multiple forums across the country. Successfully tried multiple asbestos personal injury cases to verdict on behalf of a major California insulation contracting company.
Served as Assistant Regional Manager for a former manufacturer of asbestos pipe insulation with responsibility for supervising and directing the defense as well as negotiating settlements of thousands of asbestos suits pending throughout the western U.S.
Successfully defended on appeal a summary judgment granted to a California company based upon the statute of limitations set forth in Section 340.2 of the Code of Civil Procedure. Uram v. Abex Corporation, 217 Cal. App. 3d 1425, 266 Cal. Rptr. 695 (1990).
Represented a defendant on appeal in the first California appellate proceeding to address the retroactivity of the Fair Responsibility Act of 1986 (Proposition 51). Russell v. Superior Court, 185 Cal. App. 3d 810, 230 Cal. Rptr. 102 (1986).
Successfully defended a variety of product liability, construction defect, and general casualty lawsuits, including deposing plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts.
Represented physicians and health care providers in medical malpractice claims brought by former patients in state Superior Court.
Represented one of the nation's largest insurance companies in writ proceedings involving a lower court order compelling the production of privileged documents in a first party bad faith suit.
